Open Question: What's YOUR take?

OK.  So far, I've been doing all the talking.  What about you?  What are your thoughts or experiences with the desert discipline of fasting?  Any insights or puzzlements you'd be willing to share with the rest of us?  We fellow desert travelers are all ears!

    Good question, Alan! [smile] I've been dragging my feet on fasting from eating this year. Not sure why. But this week I took some big steps to cut down my media consumption. (You'll be talking more about that later this week, right?)

    I have spent way to much on Facebook and not enough time with His Word. So for lent, I felt a strong urging to re-assess the priorities of which books is more important in my life. As a result, God's working behind the scenes and very noticeably in all aspects of my life the last couple of weeks. He is so good words can not describe. :)

    Cherirlavie -- that's very encouraging to hear! Isn't it something that God not only works in obvious ways, but also behind the scenes? Always amazes me! Thanks so much for your contribution.
