What to Leave Behind? (Week 1, Devotion 2)

          Search me, god, and know my heart;

          Test me and know my anxious thoughts.

          See if there is any offensive way in me,

            and lead me in the way everlasting.

Without those engaging distractions—what might you have to face? Boredom? Pain? Insecurity, loneliness, or something else?

Spend a few minutes quietly in God’s presence and ask God to meet you in the wide open space of the desert. Allow him to help you discover some of your anxieties and to lead you past them, onto the road where Jesus himself is walking.
